City Museum Information
We helped build and maintain two fixed layouts at St. Louis' wonderful City Museum located in the heart of the city's Loft District. The train room occupies an area in the middle of the third floor. There is a no. 1 scale ride'em train that encircles the train room. Inside, there is a rectangular N Scale double track layout and a salvaged HO layout that was featured in Model Railroader magazine. The City Museum is located at 701 North 15th Street, just north of Washington Avenue in downtown St. Louis. Entrance off 16th Street. General public scheduled hours are Wednesday - Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Saturday and Sunday hours are from 10am to 5pm. Admission for the general public is $6 for adults and children. (314) 231-CITY (2489) Park in the City Museum lot on the west side of the building. To reach the museum from Interstate 44, exit north on Jefferson Avenue to Washington Avenue and turn right. Proceed to 16th Street and turn left. Follow the signs to City Museum. To reach the museum from Interstate 40 (traveling east), take the 14th Street exit North to Washington Avenue, turn left travel to 16th Street then turn right on 16th Street. Follow the signs to the City Museum. To reach the museum from Interstate 70 (traveling north), take the Convention Center exit. At the end of the ramp take a right on Cole. Take Cole to Tucker. Turn left. Take Tucker to Washington Avenue. Turn right to 16th Street. Follow the signs to the City Museum. | |||
