Illini Terminal 1604 in Litchfield, Illinois

All photos by Glenn Koproske July 21, 2012

ITS 1604 is a GP10 restored by the Illinois Terminal Historical Society. It is owned by Respondek Railroad Corp. They entered into an agreement with the city of Litchfield, Illinois to perform the switching for all of the shippers in their industrial park. They also do track maintenance and repairs for this short line. This is a short branch off the BNSF that serves a plastics plant. The trackage comes from the former New York Central Big Four service from Hillsboro through Staunton, Illinois. Illinois Terminal used to run through Litchfield on the Illinois Central from the ADM plant in Decatur south to St. Louis.
